Life Groups

Westwood’s Life Groups happen in all different shapes, sizes and places! Some meet once a month, others more often. Some share dinner, others gather over lunch, coffee, or snacks. Some read thematic books in preparation for discussion, others work through a book of the Bible. Some gather in similar life stages, others cross the generations. Some connect at church, others rotate meeting in homes. All are welcome to participate in a life group – contact kristina@westwoodcrc.org for more information!

Adult Discipleship Classes

The Sunday Morning Adult Discipleship Class meets on Sunday at 9-9:45 AM between September-May. We offer a variety of classes that aim to help us Encounter God (build a relationship with the Lord), Engage in Our Church Community (build relationships with one another) and Enter the World (build relationships within our communities). Classes may be led by guest pastors, professors, community/ministry leaders and volunteers. Many of our classes are stand-alone sessions, while we occasionally offer mini-series on a single topic. No preparation is required, and we look forward to meeting you!

Tuesday Bible Study

The Tuesday Morning Bible Study meets from 10-11 AM on Tuesdays. Our current teacher, Rev. Clayton Smith, provides in-depth and engaging teaching on the selected scripture passage, offering opportunities to ask questions and join in discussion. No preparation is required and you are welcome to drop in any Tuesday! Check with the church office for the schedule since this class takes a few weeks off throughout the year.

Alpha

Alpha is an opportunity for anyone with or without a faith to explore life and Christianity in an open, friendly and non-judgmental environment. We get together, eat a meal, watch a short video about life and faith, and there’s time to share what you think about the topic. The course will be held on Tuesday evenings from September-November.’

WOW

Westwood on Wednesdays is a night full of fellowship and ministries!  Come for adult choir, men’s and women’s Bible studies, GEMS, and Cadets from 6:30-7:45pm.  On the first and third Wednesday of each month, a delicious dinner is served starting at 5:15pm.

Men’s & Women’s Bible Studies

Bible study groups for men and women meet each Wednesday, 6:30pm, for study, accountability, and friendship. For a place to learn and belong, please join us!

Adult Choir

The Westwood Adult Choir is open to all who want to lift their voices to praise and glorify God with others! Our repertoire includes traditional choral music, hymns, global songs, and modern praise tunes.  The highlight of the year is our tradition of singing Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus on Easter Sunday!  The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7 pm from September to May.  New members are welcome; just stop by on a Wednesday evening.  No long term commitment is expected!
(Check with Kristina or the church office for rehearsal dates since sometimes a Wednesday rehearsal isn’t scheduled for some reason.)

Friendship Ministry

Our Friendship Ministry is all about friends with differing intellectual abilities experiencing the joy of God and God’s people.  Join us from 6-7:45pm on the second Monday (October- April). Contact our church office at office@westwoodcrc.org to learn more about our Friendship Ministry and its activities this year!

MomCo

We believe that incubating hearts and giving just-because-hugs can change the course of history. That’s why we connect moms all over the world to a community of women, in their own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MomCo groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped and to find our identity by journeying along side one another.  Westwood’s MomCo group gathers on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month from October through May from 9:15-11:15am.

Craft Connection

One Friday each month is crafting time at Westwood.  From 1pm – midnight, you are welcome to bring a crafting project, a friend, and enjoy a time of relaxation and creativity!  Contact the church office for information about the next get together.
